Jamie Cooper Cannabiz ConnectionJamie Cooper, Founder and Chief Executive Officer

After relocating to West Michigan from Colorado in November of 2014, marketing professional, Jamie Cooper, began the first cannabis industry marketing and business consulting company in Michigan, Canna Media Works. She then went on to launch the West Michigan Chapter of Women Grow, a respected national organization, whose sole purpose is to educate, connect, and empower women entrepreneurs in the cannabis space.

Jamie quickly became a reliable connecting point for Michigan business owners looking to start-up a licensed cannabis business, which led to her idea to build Cannabiz Connection, to help business professionals connect with the service providers essential to building that business. Cannabiz Connection launched in January 2018, continues to grow each day and offers monthly networking events throughout Michigan.

After living in cannabis-friendly-Colorado, Jamie realized the industry in Michigan was missing a very important component to move forward – proper education for patients, ensuring effective use of the plant as a remedy to properly treat ailments. The mother of an autistic child, Jamie worked diligently with a group of parents and advocates to get autism on the list of qualifying conditions for medical cannabis in the state. Jamie serves as an Ellementa Organizer, hosting monthly cannabis education workshops, providing women with information; while creating a supportive community with reliable resources, to better understand the benefits of cannabis. She also serves as Marketing Mentor for Kadin Academy, an eight-week online cannabis business learning program for women looking to be part of the cannabis industry.

Before her journey into the cannabis industry, Jamie served as Audience Developer for Group Tour Magazine in Holland, Michigan; Marketing Director for Summit Mountain Rentals in Breckenridge, Colorado; and worked as a Television News Producer in multiple markets, including Denver, Colorado, and Dallas, Texas. Always willing to be an active community member, Jamie was appointed by the Grand Haven Mayor to sit on the Grand Haven Musical Fountain Committee in 2015, helping to develop technical operations of its Musical Fountain. This community service work includes program development, scheduling programs, system maintenance, and technological improvements.

Jamie was recently selected by the Grand Rapids Business Journal as a Top 50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan, was nominated in 2017 & 2018 as a 40 Under 40 and is proud to be a part of the historic movement of witnessing the cannabis industry become an acceptable, viable, and lucrative business in the State of Michigan.
